THREE dog triallists from this region were on the leaderboard at the end of day one of the Tux North Island titles at Mangamingi near Eltham in Taranaki.

Gisborne triallist Annie Flood and her dog Scott were in the top seven in the short head and yard.

Laurence Rau and Hunt (Gisborne) and Brendon Bishop and Pepsi (Wairoa) were among the leaders in the straight hunt.

Sheena Martin and Bribe (Wairoa) featured at the lunchtime call yesterday in the short head and yard but dropped out of the top seven in the afternoon.

Gisborne’s Allen Irwin and Charlie were in the top seven in the straight hunt for a while but dropped out as other runs were completed.
