THE Gisborne District Council building in Fitzherbert Street was closed for several hours yesterday, with police and security called in after a threat was made against a staff member.
Customer services was closed while police were notified.
“Threats to our staff are taken seriously,” said council customer engagement manager AnitaReedy-Holthausen.
“Appropriate actions were taken to ensure that our staff and customers were safe. Services resumed this morning.”
