Sprinkler ban still in place for Gisborne

A total sprinkler ban remains in place for Gisborne, despite recent rain.

The restriction, which came into force on February 12, would be reviewed again this week, based on the city's demand for water over the next few days, Gisborne District Council drinking water team leader Judith Robertson said.

She warned that despite recent rain, the long-range forecast was picking a return to dry conditions in Gisborne.

Meanwhile, the council is investigating a water leak outside the public toilets in Marina Park, which was spotted by a member of the public yesterday.
