'SENSE OF ADVENTURE': Tairāwhiti Adventure Trust trustee and organiser Nicki Davies with Sonia Hollands and furry friends at the debut Rogaine event earlier this year. The last event in the series of rogaine fundraisers for the trust is being held on Sunday. All are welcome. Just bring a compass, appropriate shoes, water and ‘‘a sense of adventure''. The last in a series of fundraising rogaine events to be held this Sunday has been postponed.
Due to bad weather, the event will be rescheduled for September 25.
The rogaine — a long-distance cross-country navigation challenge — will take place at Waimanu Forest from 9.30am.
“This time we are
going to have two courses available — one that is family- and kid-friendly and another one to push those who have got a bit more experience from participating in our other events,” Tairāwhiti Adventure Trust spokeswoman Amy Spence said.
“These have been really well supported, with over 100 people at each one, and all money goes to the Tairāwhiti Adventure Trust charity which puts back into our community.”
