FIRE and Emergency New Zealand staff have been filling their water tankers from places like the Adventure Playground lake as they do their bit during the city's water crisis.
They have also been drawing water from a storage tank at the Eastland Fire base at Makaraka.
“We've taken a fewloads out of the Adventure Playground lake, water we've used for washing down our appliances,” a senior firefighter said.
“We've been doing that since the water crisis began, to play our part in conserving the city's drinking water.”
