The name of the Wairoa meat worker who died in an accident at the Affco Wairoa plant last Wednesday has been made public as a WorkSafe New Zealand inquiry continues.
He was 61-year-old Alfred Edwards, who was a long-time employee at the plant.
Mr Edwards was farewelled today in a
funeral service at Takitimu Marae in Wairoa.
The Wairoa Star reported he made a big contribution to Tapuae and Wairoa rugby as a player, coach and administrator and was also a respected player for the Mahia Rugby Football Club.
