Reid competes tonight (10.01pm NZ time) in the men's individual sprint distance triathlon.
It is Reid's second Commonwealth Games. He was at the 2018 Games on the Gold Coast where he won bronze in the mixed team triathlon relay.
He is again in the team for the mixed relay which is scheduled for 1.31am on August 1, Monday.
England-based Gisborne judoka Sydnee Andrews is competing in her first Games.
The Gisborne Judo Club member is in the over-78kg women's division.
Her event is being held from 9pm on August 3, with medal rounds scheduled for the early hours of August 4.
Auckland-based boxer Tawhiri Toheriri-Hallett will be representing the Cook Islands at his first Games.
From Gisborne, Toheriri-Hallett learned his boxing at the Gisborne City Hit Pit Boxing Club.
He is in the light middleweight division and faces a Cyprus fighter in the round of 32 at 7am on Sunday morning.
Nelson-based lawn bowler Shannon McIlroy learned his trade in Gisborne.
He is competing in his fourth Games, representing New Zealand in the men's pairs, which start tomorrow, and the singles.
Gisborne umpire Amber Church will be blowing the whistle in the hockey arena.
