FULL UP: The swirling waters of this normally slow-moving stream in Mangapapa rose quickly as more heavy rain came to the city from about 3am today. Picture by Ben Cowper

AS if the region had not already suffered enough, Mother Nature unleashed another dose of what seems to be an endless supply of fury overnight.

Heavy rain produced surface flooding in various areas of the city, with evacuations made in the suburbs of Mangapapa and Riverdale as streams overflowed and flooded houses.
