A KINDERGARTEN, Matawai Memorial Hall and Campion College are among several Gisborne recipients of December donations from the Eastern and Central Community Trust.
The $15,000 donation to Makauri Rural Kindergarten will contribute to the costs of upgrading its building to meet modern health and safety standards.
Another $10,000 has been
given towards work on the Matawai Memorial Hall. Many community groups including Civil Defence and Search and Rescue use the hall. Matawai is the last stop for food and fuel for travellers between Gisborne and Opotiki.
ECCT money will also help install a Roll of Honour board in the hall foyer.
Campion College has been given $5000 to develop a court for various summer beach sports such as volleyball, beach soccer, tennis and flag races as well as high-energy fitness training.
