“I've worked for massive companies overseas and they would give their right arm to have a venue like that, and it's our natural beauty and it's right there on our doorstep.
“And of course, we did have the lovely Jacinda Ardern in attendance.
“I was really happy with the event, the atmosphere and the fact that everyone wanted to share their time for such a great cause.”
Seventeen local models helped show off the designs including a new eco-friendly flip-flop, made from recycled rubbish collected from the sea.
The event was a collaboration with fellow Gisborne women, headwear designer Sheryl Edwards and beauty therapist Sophie Wirepa.
