Christmas Eve pageant gets ready

Christmas carols, baby Jesus and a live donkey will be a highlight of Christmas Eve at the annual nativity pageant, also known as the ‘‘Donkey Service’’, in Holy Trinity Anglican Church at 7pm. THIS year’s script has been prepared by Emma Maguire, who will also direct the play. The event has been held every year for several decades.

Organiser Judith Wright says Mary and Joseph will be played by new parents, with their new-born playing baby Jesus.

“Baby Jesus has been played by different newborns from one family for the past four years. This year’s Mary took part in the donkey service as a child and now has a baby of her own.”
