How would you describe your style? My taste is very eclectic. I tend to ignore trends. I wear what suits me and things that reflect how I feel on the day.
What do clothes mean to you? Clothes are an extension of the artistic side of me. I adore beautifulfabrics and delight in designing many of my own pieces from the gorgeous fabrics I happen across.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe and why? My black Italian wool coat with russet coloured embroidered border. I asked Anne Rupe to help me create a very special coat. The coat features in one of my masterworks in my latest exhibition.
What do you wear to work? "Work" is my painting studio - and very often paint miraculously finds itself on whatever I am wearing.
I have become wise to this. I pamper myself with loose, comfortable clothes - often time worn, much loved pieces I have had for many years. Age and paint enhance them!
What's your oldest piece of clothing? A vintage style cotton seersucker dress covered in roses. Full almost circular skirt that flows and billows beautifully 1960s in design. Love it.

What's the latest piece you've bought? In October I unveiled two major exhibitions in an outfit I bought especially for the opening functions.
They are a Camilla label - harem pants and top with a drape that flows behind from the back neck line.
Tiny diamantes add a wonderful texture and glisten to the pieces. Reminiscent of the 24 carat gold leaf and palladium leaf I use in my latest collection of paintings. I redesigned the top to suit my shape and the look I wanted to achieve.

How has your style changed over time? Trends don't interest me. My mother taught me the value of being true to what feels right for me.
Does your fashion and art cross over? There is nothing quite as exciting as when I can feature a "special something" in one of my paintings. Alice Sea - my muse in my latest collection of paintings - is featured in a wonderful outfit I first saw her wear in Tarnished Frocks and Divas a few years ago.
It inspired the new series of works from my two major exhibitions last month: A pair of harlequin silver and black diamond leggings, a top coat and four bowler hats.
