* Band DV8 playing at the Crown & Badger.
* Doors of Hope, open air art exhibition of 20 recycled doors, revamped by local
artists, on display at The Strand until February 10. Doors will then be auctioned for charity.
TOMORROW:
* Northern Regional Surf Champs, 1000 competitors, one of the biggest surf lifesaving events in New Zealand, Mount Main Beach, 8am-5pm. Continues Sunday. World of Outlaws sprint car series, Baypark Speedway.
* Mount Maunganui and district Lioness Club's annual book fair, tomorrow and Sunday 10am-4pm. Monday, 10am-12pm, Mount Sports Centre, Blake Park, books, table games, puzzles, CDs, DVDs for sale.
* Farmers Market at Tauranga Primary School, 5th Ave, 8am-12pm, local and organic produce, local arts and crafts. Stallholders and buskers welcome, ph Olive 5430382 or Geoff 552 5832.
* Rock House Party at the Crown & Badger.
* Market Day at the Historic Village on 17th Ave, craft stalls, craft shops and more, 8am. Stallholders free. Contact Dave 027 274 6811.

SUNDAY:
* The Elms Festival of Creative Garden Art, includes sculpture, mosaics, carvings and clay work. Entry $3, children under 12 free, The Elms, Mission St, from 9:30am. Continues Monday.
* Mills Reef Stars under the Stars, 7-10pm. Outdoor concert at Mills Reef Winery featuring Tina Cross, Jackie Clark, Suzanne Lynch and Taisha as the Ladykillers, MC and co-performer Frankie Stevens. Tickets $39.95 from Baycourt. No gate sales.

Mauao Pacific Open Ocean Paddle Race, Mount Main Beach, 5km board paddle and 10km ski paddle, 10am-11:30am.
* Mount Maunganui and district Lioness Club's book fair, 10am-12pm, Mount Sports Centre, Blake Park.
