What: Shapeshifter
Where: Brewers Field

What: ZM Summer
Games.
Where: Base of Mt Drury.
Time: 11am-3pm.
Hang out with the ZM Thunder team as part of the Live it, Survive it Summer at the Mount. Today features a teddy bear's picnic. Win tickets to the gigs at Brewers in the Park and Illuminati Superclub as well as prizes from Havaianas, Rip it Up, Elizabeth Arden and more. ZM will be at Mt Drury until January 8.
What: New Zealand Sprint Car Championships
Where: Baypark Speedway
Time: Gates open 5pm. Racing starts 7pm.
Forty-two sprint cars will line up for the Ace Concrete Cutting New Zealand Sprint Car Championship at Baypark Speedway this Friday and Saturday nights. The field includes five Americans and four previous champions, making it an extremely competitive field.
LoveTheMount Beach Series, 4-8pm, Main Beach Mount Maunganui, by Mount Drury. Georgia Hagensen, Derrin Richards, Spork, John Michaelz, Herm Dub, Mahara Tocker, Regan.  
SATURDAY:

What: Waihi Beach Village Open Fishing competition.
Where: Open water.
Time: Start 6am, finish 5.30pm.
Take part in the BBSFC Waihi Beach Village Open Fishing competition. Open water and weather permitting. Briefing and lucky draw on Friday at 7.30pm. Saturday's weigh in starts at 2pm and finishes at 6pm. Tickets from Reel n Wave, 863 5859, or Bowentown Boating Club, 863 5006.
What: Port of Tauranga Half Triathlon.
Where: Pilot Bay.
Time: 7am onward.
Cheer on the athletes who are set to take part in the annual Port of Tauranga Half Triathlon. Course includes a 2km swim, 90km bicycle and 21km run. Athletes will swim in Pilot Bay, cycle along Marine Pde, Oceanbeach Rd and along Papamoa Beach Rd, before returning to The Mall in Pilot Bay. They'll complete a second lap before the run leg, from The Mall to Tay St and back, and complete a second lap.
What: Jalopy Dust Up.
Where: Waihi Beach Dirt Track Club.
Time: All day.
Celebrate the third annual Jalopy Dust Up at Waihi where classic cars, hotrods, pre-65 sedans, vintage midgets and stock cars will race cat and mouse style, on the dirt track. To register or more information, phone Noddy on 021 260 8946.
What: Natural Earth and Holistic Fair
Where: Waihi Beach Community Centre
Time: 9am-4pm
The annual Natural Earth and Holistic Fair this Saturday and Sunday will include everything you need for a healthy year ahead. Drum healing, free spirit pre-loved books, sharmic healing, spiritual artistry, oracle cards, incense, tarot readings, numerology, palmistry and more. Entry $5 for adults, children free.

SUNDAY:

What: Beats on the Beach.
Where: Wharepai Domain.
Time: 12-6pm.
For a fun, family friendly event, head to the Wharepai Domain for bopfm's Beats On The Beach music event. Featuring Scotty, Campbell, Mikeee, Marty D, Twisted Dizko and J2D. Top DJs will play dub/reggae, electro, house and everything in between. So grab a blanket for an awesome day of music with the whole family. Part 2 of Beats on the Beach will be held Sunday, January 30 at Main Mount Beach.
