A locally based milk provider has proved it is the cream of the crop after winning this year's Anchor Franchise of the Year award.
The Milk Crew was named the best overall franchisee from 75 others throughout New Zealand.
Owner-operators John and Susanne Reynolds accepted the award while attending an Anchor conference last month.
Mr Reynolds said the award was a rewarding pat on the back.
"It is definitely good kudos."
The Milk Crew delivers milk to most of the Tauranga region, from 23rd Ave to Tauriko and Omokoroa.
Its orders range from one bottle of milk to 20-25 crates a day.
Operating three vehicles, the franchise delivers an average of 35,000 litres of milk per week.
Mr Reynolds said he and his wife did not expect to win, but "if awards come our way then we would be happy to take them".
The Milk Crew has been around for six years and has been recognised as runner-up and highly commended before.
The awards are handed out each year to Anchor franchisees that have outshone all others in their field through areas such as increased profit and growing their business market.
In judge's notes made available to the Bay of Plenty Times The Milk Crew was described as a "very efficient and customer focused" business.
"John has a strong sales bias and a high profile amongst his customer base, [and] with Susanne running a very efficient administrative system, you have a recipe for ongoing success."
