It has been almost nine weeks of hard work but the Waipuna Hospice fundraising house is almost complete.
On Saturday,  about 15 electricians from Switch Electrical prepared the house for electrical installation before wiring the property with cables, switches and boxes.
Andy Bowkett, director of Switch Electrical Services, said being involved in the
Waipuna Hospice fundraising home was  important to the volunteers that had helped out.
"This project not only gives us the satisfaction of supporting the Hospice but has helped the building of team spirit, with everyone concerned giving back something to our community," said Mr Bowkett.
"We've come to realise how important the Waipuna Hospice is to the community."
Mr Bowkett estimated the cost of the job to be  $1000-2000.
Switch Electrical Services first got involved with Waipuna Hospice when Belvedere Construction asked it to  do the wiring for the hospice when its  building expanded about four years ago. While undertaking that project, Mr Bowkett said the company saw all the hard work that went on at the hospice and decided to continue supporting the organisation as much as possible.
"We have always believed in focusing on locally-based charities and non-profit making organisations and Waipuna Hospice is very close to the heart of many local people," he said.
Over the past four years, Switch Electrical has supplied labour and materials to the hospice at cost rates and in many cases free of charge.

Waipuna Hospice chief executive Richard Thurlow said he went up to the Lakes property during the Christmas break and was thrilled at how the house was developing.

The project, which began in early November, was scheduled to be complete by mid-February.

Businesses that have been involved in the  fundraising house include: Belvedere Construction, Grasshopper Properties, CadLab, Kirk Roberts Consulting Engineers Ltd, John Darke Interiors, Boffa Miskell Ltd, Crombie Lockwood, Hypace Earthworks, Supacrete, Eddie Brill Bricklaying, DAC Contractors, Carters, PurePine Mouldings Ltd, Hinuera Stone, Completed Roofing Services, Tasman Aluminum Ltd, Ashtons BOP Garage Doors, Battenman,
Winstone Wall Boards, Switch Electrical Services Ltd, Plumbing World, Brian Garden, Avenue 15 Doors, Top Flyte Stairs and Safety, Heirloom Kitchens, Supreme Lock and Harware, J Dromgool Painters Ltd, Tilling Image, Mangos Flooring, Designer Homeware, Guinness Appliances, Devan Tanks and Tauranga ITM.
