Tauranga police at scene of reported burglary

Tauranga police are investigating an alleged burglary in the Avenues this morning.

A police communciations spokeswoman said the occupant of a 11th Avenue property called 111 at 9.50am to report the theft of a Playstation 3 by a male suspect.

The incident was coded as a burglary but it was unclear whether the alleged offender was known to the complainant and it may be a domestic related matter, the spokeswoman said.

Two police vehicles were parked on 11th Avenue near the property, and two officers were seen door knocking at neigbhouring properties.

No further information on the alleged theft was available at this time.
