Ken Hawkes

Tauranga's Holland Beckett Lawyers has announced that Ken Hawkes, pictured, will join the partnership from April 1.

"Ken is a lawyer with extensive international experience who brings a new dimension to the firm with his specialist commercial experience," said Hobec practice manager Sharline Fitzgerald.

Mr Hawkes joined Hobec in June 2014 as a special counsel, after resigning from White & Case, where he was the head of energy and project finance for Southeast Asia. He told the Bay of Plenty Times last year he returned to Tauranga for lifestyle reasons after almost two decades abroad.

While in Asia, he advised a range of clients on some of the largest financing and energy projects in the region.

Mr Hawkes' deals since joining Hobec include working with lead partner Mark Tingey in advising Port of Tauranga on its 10-year deal with Kotahi Logistics.
