The Eastern Bay of Plenty has struck a rare blow for the little guy by taking out the Ellis Shield.

Western Bay of Plenty teams won two of three age divisions but, in the final tally, it was the Eastern Bay who were most consistent.

A win in the under-12s and strong showings in the under-11 and under-13 divisions were enough to deliver the shield by two points from Western Bay.

ELLIS SHIELD

Under-13 results: EBOP 10 beat CBOP 0; WBOP 19 beat EBOP 17; WBOP drew 10-10 CBOP.
