Police were this morning called to Bureta Pharmacy after it was held up by a man demanding drugs.
A man is believed to have targeted the pharmacy at around 8.30am, a few minutes after it opened its doors.
It is believed the man, who had disguised himself, demanded drugs. Following the store policy, the lone pharmacist on duty met the man's demands before sounding the panic alarm to alert police.
A woman walking in the area was stopped by police on Grange Rd and told they were seeking a man in a hooded sweatshirt carrying a black bag. She said the policewoman was then called away to search the Otumoetai golf course.
