Road cone thieves

The  prank of nicking road cones has become the subject of controversy, as a Tauranga-based 'Steal a Road Cone Day' prank is expected to take place today.
It is understood a Tauranga teenager started the idea, which drew a strong response on  Facebook, with 7000 people saying they would attend.
New Zealand Police said criminal charges would face anyone  stealing road cones. The original page has since been deleted but another has been
created with at least 400 people saying they will attend.
The new page highlights the  police response, including what fines a potential road cone thief could face.
