Entries are now open for the 2014 Baby of the Year and the first 100 entries will be published in the Bay of Plenty Times.

In previous years parents had to pay for their child to enter and be in the baby book but this year entry is free and the contestants' photos will be published in a lift-out inside the Bay of Plenty Times.

Organiser Tara Childs was looking forward to seeing the entries as they came in up to the closing date of December 4.

"The idea is just to send a photo in."

This year's prize is $300 worth of vouchers to spend at any store in Fraser Cove Shopping Centre plus vouchers for Toyworld, Baby City, BB's, Salon One and Worlds End.
