The annual  Miss Mount Maunganui pageant has been moved from New Year's Day to New Year's Eve.
The change will allow organisers to use the stage that Tauranga City Council will erect for  entertainment later that evening.
Hosted by 89.8 ZM and Temptations Lingerie and Swimwear, the Miss Mount Maunganui competition will
this year run alongside a new event, Little Miss Sunshine.
Both competitions will be held on New Year's Eve from 3pm to 5pm, with the winners stepping into the New Year with the titles.
Women aged 16 to 30 are eligible to enter Miss Mount Maunganui 2010, which was won last year by Sarah Munn (left).
Cash and swimwear vouchers from Temptations Lingerie for Miss Mount and for the first and second runners-up are up for grabs.
The young woman voted Miss Personality will also win a prize.
Little Miss Sunshine is running two categories and is open to girls  5 to 7 years old and  8 to 12 years.
The winning younger girls will also receive vouchers from Temptations Lingerie and Swimwear.
Those who would like to enter either competition can register where  the 89.8 ZM's Black Thunder vehicle can be seen, up until 3pm on the day, or at Temptations Lingerie and Swimwear on Maunganui Rd.
Competitors can also  register online at www.zmonline.com/WhatsOn/Events/
Contestants are asked to wear their swimwear and be prepared to answer questions on stage.
