The sun came out and the rain held off until just after the volunteers had packed everything away, he said. Free games, rides, bands, bouncy castles and food at Coronation Park kept people of all ages entertained and reminded them of the meaning behind Resurrection Sunday.
Charlotte Cantlon, 4, had a ball jumping on the bouncy castles and posing for photos with "princess" Kristen Andrews.
Father Jamie Cantlon said his daughters were having "heaps of fun".
"We heard rave reviews from last year and we thought we'd make the effort to come."
Organiser Renee Ryland was thrilled with how the day went.
"We had to send for sunscreen," she said. "People are happy. You couldn't ask for a better day."
