Honesty in Waihi

After enjoying a delightful two days in Waihi I was preparing to leave the motel when I realised my camera was missing.

A frantic search of room and car was unsuccessful but I had to leave for Auckland in order to catch my flight back to Melbourne.

I made a quick call into the Kodak shop in town in case I'd left it there, but 'no'.

I returned home in a very depressed mood.

Although the Canon camera could be replaced there was no way could I ever get to view the images I'd collected over the previous two weeks.

Next morning I switched on my computer to view my email and was astonished to see one from the Kodak shop to say my camera had been handed in.

It came from the Art Market, just across Seddon Street with the hope that somebody in the Kodak shop would know about the owner.

Jo Moriarty in the shop remembered from the previous days conversation that I had been staying in the Waihi Motel and through them she obtained my email address.

Amazing teamwork from the Art Market, the Motel and the Kodak plus a whole bunch of honesty all round means I will be re-united with the precious images I captured while on holiday in your wonderful country.
