A group of Year 10 students at Tauranga Girls' College spent yesterday lunchtime selling their business products in the annual Enterprise Studies market day.
The market day is part of the Great Business Challenge where EPS students sell their products, which they spend six weeks designing, manufacturing, marketing and producing.
Business Studies head of department, Jude Maurice, said the programme was beneficial because it taught students valuable skills.
"But it also encourages younger students to do it in the future, because they see the older students out there, selling their things," she said.
Entrepreneur Abby Bradley said she came up with the idea of fluorescent artwork from a previous project at her church.
Her group started with 15 pictures and only had four left after half an hour of selling.
Miss Bradley said they had huge interest in their products so they decided to increase the price of the paintings.
Other successful projects were knitted cellphone cases, tie-dyed bags and handmade jewellery.
Glowing report for business class
