Firefighters came to the rescue of a cat stuck on the roof of a Judea house late last night.
Tauranga senior station officer Mark Keller said the black cat had been on the roof a few hours when they arrived at the Churchill Rd house just after 11pm.
The ownerswere "quite panicky" and very worried the adventurous moggie would injure itself.
He said it was in a precarious spot on the highest part of the roof of the two-storey house.
The crew put a ladder up and a firefighter climbed up to rescue the cat.
"As soon as the firefighter got on the roof the cat got all terrified and ran off the low side, then down some guttering and jumped down on to the ground and was off."
Mr Keller said it was the crew's only call out last night.
