Powerlines are down and sparking across the Te Puke Highway after a crash today.
The crash was reported to emergency services at 9.33am.
A police spokeswoman said although powerlines were down, no one was in the car when officers showed up.
"There are no indications of any victims at this stage," she said.
A motorist said a car drove into a bank and took out the powerlines, which were sparking on the road.
