A sizable cheque has been donated this morning to help buy more medical equipment for children at Tauranga and Whakatane hospitals.
Countdown today presented a cheque for $99,440 to the Bay of Plenty District Health Board at Countdown Fraser Cove.
The funds were raised as part of the annual Countdown
Kids Christmas Appeal.
The equipment would help children across the entire Bay of Plenty District Health Board district which stretches from Waihi Beach in the north-west to Whangaparaoa on the East Cape and inland to the Urewera, Kaimai and Mamaku Ranges.
These boundaries take in the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Opotiki.
