Multiple rescues kept the Tauranga Volunteer Coastguard busy on Sunday.
A jet ski with mechanical issues needed to be towed back to Pilot Bay from Matakana Island, a written statement on their Facebook page said.
Whilst dealing with that, a request was received to assist a small vessel which was under tow from a yacht from outside "A" beacon, off the entrance to the Tauranga Harbour.
"The sea state wasn't brilliant, but the small vessel was towed safely back to the ramp without issue."
A vessel also struck an object, and suffered damage to its stern off Motiti Island.
