Multiple rescues kept the Tauranga Volunteer Coastguard busy on Sunday.
A jet ski with mechanical issues needed to be towed back to Pilot Bay from Matakana Island, a written statement on their Facebook page said.
Whilst dealing with that, a request was received to assist a small vessel which wasunder tow from a yacht from outside "A" beacon, off the entrance to the Tauranga Harbour.
"The sea state wasn't brilliant, but the small vessel was towed safely back to the ramp without issue."
A vessel also struck an object, and suffered damage to its stern off Motiti Island.
Maketu Coastguard was dispatched and started to tow back the vessel to Tauranga when TECT Rescue met them halfway, and completed the tow.
"The weather at this time of year can be unpredictable, with big afternoon sea breezes cutting up rough, so make sure you keep an eye on the weather, and make sure you go boating in conditions that are suitable for your vessel and skills."
