A life-size outdoor scrabble game is being installed in the former Phoenix Carpark this week.
The giant game will be operating at Te Papa Ō Ngā Manu Porotakataka on Maunganui Rd from 9am to 5pm on April 15 to 18.
The scrabble game will feature plywood tiles the size of dinner plates that are played on a board measuring more than four-metres wide by up to four players or teams.
Giant Scrabble is a partnership between Mount Mainstreet and Knock Knock Events and will only be installed for a limited time.
"We are thrilled to be working with Mount Mainstreet to bring this interactive game to the Mount these holidays and utilise this new urban space with such an exciting creative project," Luke Schroder of Knock Knock Events said.
"This is potentially the largest game of scrabble in New Zealand right now."
The newly developed urban space will also feature comfortable bean bags and other outdoor games for all ages to enjoy daily.
There will also be additional entertainment on Easter Saturday with local performers Circus in a Flash offering interactive circus activities, roving acrobats and performers, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny.
