Fog rolls in over Tauranga, delays flight by almost an hour

Tauranga woke up to fog this morning and a flight was delayed almost an hour because of it.

The second flight to Wellington, NZ8265, was delayed due to the fog in Tauranga.

It was scheduled to leave at 7.30am but departed at 8.25am.

Passengers on board another flight, NZ5252, from Wellington to Tauranga had their trip slightly delayed also. It was due to arrive in Tauranga at 9.50am but landed a little late, at 9.59am.

Meanwhile, the 8.35am incoming flight from Auckland, NZ8129, was cancelled this morning due to engineering issues.

As a result, the 9am return service from Tauranga to Auckland, NZ8128, was also cancelled.

Air New Zealand said customers would be accommodated on alternative services.
