She joined crowds of people taking advantage of Auckland Anniversary Day to enjoy their public holiday by the sea.
"I wanted to take the kids to the Kewpie and so we just came to sit on the beach to have food because it's [the weather] amazing."
"We own a cafe and we decided a couple of years ago we didn't want to work on public holidays, so we don't. Now we get to join everyone else who comes down here," Ms Graham said.
The beach was heaving with relaxed sun-lovers picnicking, surfing, swimming, stand-up paddle boarding and paragliding.
Metservice's Lisa Murray said the good weather was expected to continue.
A pressure system sitting over the northern part of the North Island was responsible for the more settled weather, Ms Murray said.
"There's even a chance of early morning fog in the valleys. That's just because it's so still. But it will be fine during the day, again with light winds and sea breezes," she said.
Ms Murray warned of an overnight temperature of 19C on Thursday night, which could make things uncomfortable for some people trying to sleep.
Friday presented a chance of light showers "but not enough to keep farmers happy. There's no problem for people wanting to go to the beach, though," she said.
