About 4000 people flocked to the Mount Main Beach to see David Hasselhoff on Thursday.
The Baywatch star flew in by helicopter to Moturiki Island then arrived on the beach by IRB flanked by lifeguards
The Baywatch theme music played as fans surged forward, screaming the star's name and asking for autographs and photos.
"The Hoff" obliged, signing t-shirts and posing for photos as he slowly made his way across the beach to the Surf Club where conducted interviews.
Be sure to get today's Bay of Plenty Times for full coverage of David Hasselhoff's visit, including The Hoff's reunion with a Bay woman he first met many years ago, fan reaction, and a half-page of pictures. A photo gallery will be added on bayofplentytimes.co.nz this afternoon.
