Night Owl's screening at Mount Maunganui tonight has been cancelled due to poor weather.
High winds scuppered plans to originally screen a surf documentary at Mount Drury Reserve on Saturday night. It was postponed to tonight. However, wet weather has now meant the screening of 2017 documentary 'Men of Wood and Foam' won't be happening.
The event was organised by Night Owl Cinema and the Tauranga Arts Festival.
The film told the story of six of Australia's pioneering surfboard makers, the film was made by surfing writer Phil Jarratt who will be speaking at the festival today at 1pm and on Monday at 10am.
The screening was to be the first of the Night Owl Cinema summer programme and part of the Tauranga Arts Festival. See the full festival programme here.
