British lingerie magnate Michelle Mone has told of her embarrassment after lifting up a man she mistook for a 6-year-old boy.
The Conservative Party member of the House of Lords, formally known as Baroness Mone of Mayfair, was addressing 3000 people in Vietnam as part of her mentoring programme when she made the unfortunate gaffe.
The 44-year-old founder and former chief of the Ultimo lingerie brand told her one million Twitter followers:
Most embarrassing moment.Speaking in Vietnam to 3,000 people,thought this was a 6 year old,picked him up,he's a MAN?? pic.twitter.com/VqNR86dsUi— Lady Mone (@MichelleMone) 7 May 2016
The incident provoked a mixed response on Twitter, with some users criticising her for embarrassing the man further, and others finding it amusing.
@MichelleMone And sharing this on twitter to further embarrass the poor chap, is to gain what, attention? Michelle, it's moronic, delete it!— Samira Edi (@SamiraEdi) 7 May 2016
