Outside backs remain at a premium for Steelform Wanganui as a last minute change has seen Taranaki import Blake Hohaia join the reserves for today's game with Poverty Bay in Gisborne.
A former Mt Albert Grammar School 1st XV member, Hohaia played age grade representative matches at fullback for 'Blues Schools' and the Auckland Under 19's before moving to the Inglewood club in 2015.
In Taranaki club rugby, he was predominantly a second-five although he also covered wing and fullback.
He was initially part of coach Colin Cooper's wider Taranaki squad and played the preseason games in late July and early August.
Hohaia is a late replacement for Kaveni Dabenaise on the bench for today's game.
Wanganui coach Jason Caskey said on Thursday that hopefully injured winger Simon Dibben will be available for selection next weekend, while Samu Kubunavanua was getting an X-ray on his bothersome ankle.
Kickoff is at 2.30pm.
