Several Wanganui East Club players have been competing at all levels of the sport over April.
On the second weekend of the month, the Hawke's Bay Autumn Triples were won by the side including club member Pete Hamilton, while Sharon Cannon's group took second place.
In the Plate, Christine Strichen's team won while the Yvonne Futcher and Tony Simpson's team were third.
On April 16, the Wellington Ptanque Association Women's Doubles was played at Kapiti.
Shirley Madgwick performed very well at her first regional tournament by coming second for the Trophy grade.
In the Plate, Strichen also came second.
The next day at Kapiti, the Wellington Regional Women's Triples were won by Strichen, Cannon and Masterton's Claire Wilson. Futcher teamed with Kapiti's Annick Le Cuen and Park Ave's Monica Smiler for second.
On April 23-24 in Rotorua was the best result, as Wanganui East came third at the National Club Championships.
The team was beaten by winners Bayview and runnersup Herne Bay out of 14 squads from all over New Zealand.
Then on May 1 was the Wellington Regional Women's Singles in Levin, with nine Wanganui East members taking part.
In the Trophy, Sue Gurr came second, while Yvonne Futcher won the Plate with Strichen third.
Lee-Ann Bird came first, Shirley Madgwick second, while Athena Christodoulak and Pauline Ray were third equal.
