Whanganui youth looking for direction may have found it at a careers expo held at Jubilee Stadium yesterday.
The event was aimed at Year 10 students who are deciding which NCEA subjects they want to pursue next year and what they might want to do when they leave school.
There were 21 stalls from Whanganui training providers offering information and practical demonstrations as well as army, police and fire service personnel offering career advice.
Trades and Industry Careers Expo co-ordinator Jason Shailer said it was good to see young people asking questions and the stall holders had set up great interactive displays with prizes for those who showed aptitude.
Mr Shailer said he hoped it would become an annual event.
