The crowds were out in force for Whanganui's annual Christmas Parade on sunny Saturday.
The colourful carnival event was organised by Mainstreet Whanganui, and spokeswoman Kelly Scarrow said it was real treat seeing people come together.
"It was beautiful having the community show up to see the amazing array of floats.
"The highlight for me was looking from the fountain area up and just seeing the horde of people enjoying the sunshine and the visual feast in front of them."
Starting at 2pm, over 40 floats took part in the event, each bringing there own music and theme.
