Record crowds have attended the Anzac Day dawn service in Wanganui.
It was estimated up to 10,000 people turned up at Saturday morning's service, marking a century since Anzac soldiers landed at Gallipoli.
Traffic backed up on the Dublin St Bridge and CBD roads beforehand as at least four times the usual crowd made its way to the War Memorial forecourt.
People gathered on Queen's Park hill, lined Watt St and the museum surrounding the War Memorial, the new location for this year's service.
The parade wound down Queen's Park to the forecourt as people stood on fences and children climbed on parent's shoulders to get a view.
