Whanganuis AMT Auto Electrical has been recognised for the third time in the New Zealand Yuasa Battery Awards.
Dean and Leanne Wills, who have owned the business for five-and-a-half years, won the Sales Growth Recognition category at the awards, held in New Caledonia recently.
It follows their successes in 2013, when they won the Welcome Aboard award for promising new suppliers and their 2014 Best Ambassador award for their work to promote the Yuasa brand.
We have worked especially hard at promoting the Yuasa batteries and this has paid off and been recognised, Mrs Wills said.
As well as vehicle and heavy vehicle batteries, we have been promoting golf cart batteries, marine and motorhome deep cycle batteries in the local community.
Battery sales are only a small part of the business. As well as specialising in auto electrical work, they provide air conditioning, mechanical and other services. The couple operate the business alone, with a student on work experience helping out. They plan to take him on as an apprentice next year.
