The Stratford Eltham Colt rugby team got the season under way with a hard fought game against Inglewood on Good Friday — winning 28-20.
The team had plenty of possession and kept Inglewood down inside their half during the first six minutes, but couldn't get enough phases together to make any real impact.
Inglewood players were able to make steady ground and after a few easy gains from penalties, the Colts found themselves hard on defence.
Inglewood went over the line during the ninth minute of play to take the first points of the season 5-0. From the kick off, the Colts got straight back into attack mode, receiving a penalty in the 11th minute — giving the team three easy points.
