An old rivalry was ignited on the track for Stratford motorcross rider Camo Keegan at the New Zealand TT Championships last weekend in Kuratau.
Camo took out second place overall in the quad bike class after coming up against long time racing rival Ian Ffitch in the final at the national competition. "Ian and I are friendly off the track but we can get very competitive while racing."
Camo says he is pleased with his placing considering the competition was held at a new track that he had never raced at before.
Camo, who was racing in both quad and two wheel classes, says the conditions on the track were icy over the competition weekend, adding that his brother Scott injured his collar bone during the practise laps because of the ice and never got a chance to race.
With the success of the weekend fresh in his mind, Camo is already looking forward to his next big competition. The New Zealand ATV Nationals are due to be held in November "and with some luck it will be at Barrett Road in New Plymouth."
