The Stratford Floral Art group celebrated 50 years last month, with members meeting for a luncheon at Shakee Pear Cafe to mark the occasion.
Exactly 50 years and one day after the first meeting was held, the current members listened to the minutes of that meeting being read out before the current president gave a report on the history of the group and some of the highlights through the years.
Two foundation members were present as well as some of the group's former presidents.
The honour of cutting the birthday cake went to patron Shirley Greenhill and current member Mary Read.
