Marina Erakovic's dream run at the WTA Tournament in Rabat Morocco has come to an end.
The Kiwi tennis player has lost to the tournament's top seed Timea Bacsinszky 6-2, 6-1 in the final.
World number 15 Bacsinszky was dominant all tournament, losing just one set in five matches at the Moroccan claycourt event.
It was Bacsinszky's first title on red clay with all three of her previous tournament victories coming on hardcourts.
Erakovic had played seven back to back matches to advance to the final from qualifying. It was Erakovic's fifth shot at a WTA title, having only won one - in Memphis in 2013.
The tournament was a huge boost for Erakovic who has struggled with injuries and poor form over the past year. The run of victories kick starts her clay court season ahead of French Open qualifying next month.
She is expected to move into the top 125 of the WTA Tour rankings as a result.
