Marcus Daniell and Artem Sitak have fallen at the first hurdle in the defence of their ATP doubles title in Montpellier, France.

The Kiwis have lost to Italian Andrea Arnaboldi and Spain's Marc Lopez 4-6, 6-4, 10-5 in the Super Tiebreak.

But second seeds Kiwi Michael Venus and Croatian partner Mate Pavic are off to a winning start, beating German Dustin Brown and Aussie Rameez Junaid 6-3, 6-4.
