Sydney's biggest day of racing wouldn't be complete without Gai Waterhouse playing a leading role.
Five runners in the world's richest race for two-year-olds, the A$3.5 million ($4.4 million) Golden Slipper, headlines Waterhouse's assault on today's Rosehill programme which features five Group One races.
The champion trainer was the star of the show on Rosehill Guineas day last Saturday with a feature race treble including the Guineas with Laser Hawk, and she is set to feature prominently once again.
More Joyous is favourite for the Group One Queen Of The Turf Stakes and rising star Niagara heads the market for the Group One George Ryder Stakes. Waterhouse has more than a quarter of the field in the Golden Slipper spearheaded by unbeaten colt Pierro who is second favourite behind Melbourne filly Samaready.
Driefontein, Raceway, No Looking Back and Later Gator complete Waterhouse's five-pronged Slipper representation.
