Cricket: Bangladesh debacle sparks emergency meeting

The Black Caps' disastrous one-day tour of Bangladesh has sparked a crisis meeting between tour management and the New Zealand Cricket (NZC) board.

Captain Daniel Vettori, coach Mark Greatbatch and high performance director Roger Mortimer will meet with the NZC board on Friday.

The trio - who returned from Bangladesh early this morning - requested the opportunity to present directly to the board as part of the tour de-brief and review. They will also discuss with the board the upcoming tour to India and the World Cup campaign.
Until Bangladesh won the series opener by nine runs on October 5, they had beaten New Zealand only once in 17 attempts.

A three-run loss on Sunday (NZT) rounded off an unprecedented 0-4 series loss.

New Zealand have a short break before the test team flies to India for three tests starting on November 4, followed by five ODIs. The matches are the Black Caps' final component of overseas preparations for February's World Cup in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The team for the Indian tour is expected to be named on Sunday.

A statement from NZC said there would be no further public comment on the Bangladesh tour before Friday's board meeting.
