Police have cordoned off a house in Papakura, South Auckland, after a 30-year-old man turned up at the local police station about 3.45pm today with a serious gunshot wound to a leg.

He was taken to Middlemore Hospital in Otahuhu.

Members of the armed offenders squad are currently at the house, said Inspector Shawn Rutene of northern police communications.
